Family Funnival @ IMM

Went to meet up with Edwin, Wei Cheng and Choon Tat to go IMM and support Xue Yi at the Teen Star competition. She beat about 150 participants to be in the final 6. As usual, Wei Cheng was rather late. After that, we went to Jurong Entertainment Centre to play arcade while waiting for time to pass. Saw Doni and Christopher playing pool at K-Pool. Then we saw Hester, Yu Yong, Wei Li, Qing He and Jackie and headed to the arcade. We played the basketball game and thought some of us did pretty well with 300+ points in a group. Then we saw this pair playing. Their overall score was 1032. They were so fast in throwing the balls. Then we went downstairs to have dinner. Some went to Long John Silver while the others went to a Japanese stall to have the food. Alvin managed to join us for dinner after his meeting with Ms Lee. I ordered Oyaku Udon. It was very nice. There was this kind lady who offered us a untouched fish which she and her children could not finish.

Then we headed to IMM. Took quite a while to find the exact place. Once there, we saw some other Unitians as well. Kang Yi, Gary, Sarah Hoon, Ying Qi, Rui Xian, Yi Lin, Sherlyn, Darina, Agnes, Hui Ying, Lee Feng, Jeremy Loh, Tiam Kwee, Kevin, Ricky, Yvonne (Clement's sister) and her friend, Xue Yi's family. The whole performance began with a few dance performance and singing and followed by the arrival of the Guest of Honour, Mr Thaman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education. There was a rapper there who did some quite nice rap. After that was the performance by Hady Mirza. Then the Teen Star finals began. A few of the singers sang quite well actually. However, some of them went off pitch sometimes. When it was Xue Yi's turn, a lot of us cheered for her. After that, some of us went to buy some drinks and also look at the handphone displays. I saw some of the phones that I had in mind. The N93i cost about $1000+. Then we went back up, only to realize we missed the results. Xue Yi got third place and her reward was a Everlast Watch and $200 prize money. We took photos there. I'll try to get the photos from the others asap. We then headed to Bukit Batok to have our supper. We initially chose McDonalds but it did not have enough space for the 20+ of us. We then headed to the nearby food court and ate. Some left after eating while the rest of us remained to watch the show on TV, Final Destination 2. It began to rain shortly after that. Then we left at about 11.20pm.

Jogathon Friday!!!

Forgot to post about it. Woke up late and was late for school by a few minutes. Ran one round at the carpark and then proceeded to join my class. Initially, the distance seemed pretty short but it turn out to be very tiring after running. I dashed during the run around the field and when it was time to run outside, I was slowing down greatly. In the end, after the last runner of every class had finished, it was announced that my class and 4/7 tied for 3rd place. After proceeding to the hall and the final results were given out, 5/2 won first place for sec 4, 4/7 took the second and my class took third. The prize was rather budget. It was just a small medal. At least it was a good job done. We have to thank the girls in our class for helping us achieve this medal. Because of some girls who never turned up, the rest had to run 3 rounds each, equivalent to 3km.

OMG!!!!!!!!! What a great way to start my first Wushu Competition.

Just found out that I will be the first to do the Competitive Changquan on the 12th April. Hopefully I won't screw up on that day. The good thing is that I get to miss lessons. the event starts at 1.30pm and is at Manjusri Secondary School, which means I will have to leave rather early as it is nearer to the east side of Singapore.

Still have jogathan on Friday. Signing off.

First Full Dress Rehearsal for Inter-School Wushu Competition

Went to Rulang Primary School for the training. The school is rather nicely designed. Proceeded to the hall and then the carpet was laid out. Changed into my performance costume and while changing, there were people spraying the smoke to kill mosquitoes and the smoke filled up the whole toilet and the corridor. It was so thick that I almost got lost but luckily some of the Rulang kids were with me so we could find our way back to the hall. Waited for my turn to do the routine. My first routine was the Competitive Changquan Routine. The panel of 'judges' said I was not doing fast enough and not very well-prepared. Then my second routine was the Si Duan Qiang. My legs were all tired out after doing the first routine and I did not do very well for that either. After the whole thing ended, we changed back and went for dinner at the food court near Jurong Sports Complex.

IT'S OFFICIAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My blood type is B+. Just got my blood grouping result a few minutes back. Why can't I be a AB+/- or O+/-. It just sucks knowing that B+ can only save those B+ or AB+ only.

Hope she has the same blood type as me or blood that can be compatible with mine.

Went for blood grouping test today. It isn't as scary as others might say. They just place the needle into where your vein is and the blood will just flow out into the container. Will be getting the result of my blood grouping on Monday or Tuesday, the same day as the contact lens I ordered. Went out to Hui Jie's condo there to play pool. Only a few people were there: Me, Xian Feng, Alvin, Choon Tat, Hui Jie, Cheong Seng, Syafiq and Gary. We played from 2-4.15pm. Then the rest of us went to McDonalds for dinner. Some of them asked for one of every sauce and in the end most of it were wasted and mixed together.

Making this a short post. Just came back from Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

We were all gathered in the parade square and left at 8.30am by bus to NP. We were then shown a video in the lecture theater. It was done up by the business students there. It was so nicely done and the music was very suitable for the video. Then there was another video of the students going to Laos for community service. It seemed rather fun there. After that, we had tea-break and the food was nice, especially the pizza. Then we were moved to our respective location for enrichment programmes. My class was doing Fun With Electronics. We each made a LED light with the parts provided and the chipboard pre-made. We just have to provide our own battery =(. We were also shown some of the things done by the previous year's students. They were so well-done, if only it was covered properly which would have been even better. Then we had a quiz and the first 3 students who completed it won a shoe bag each. I got one myself. Then we walked round the whole school just to find Xian Feng. We headed to West Mall to have our lunch. Xian Feng and Alvin had a little quarrel which I shall not elaborate on. That's all for now.

Back from Choir Camp.

Day 1

Started the camp with the committee members meeting up at 8.30am. Then 9am, attendance was taken and grouping was done. My group members were: Me, Gary, Wan Jia, Rebecca, Evie, Bo Yu, Joelle, Sakinah, Atiqah and some others whom I forgot. We had some ice-breakers and then had a mass game of Cling-Cling after that. With a few minutes of rest after the Cling-Clng, we proceeded to Captain's Ball. The whole choir was divided into 4 groups. Then we went for R & R and then had lunch at 12pm. The food was quite ok, except that no drinks were provided. At that time, we realized that the key to the music room was missing. Then after lunch, some of the committee members went up to the music room, only to find that the key was still in the keyhole of the music store. At 1pm, we had sectionals until 2pm when Mr Liew arrived. The combined practice took a long time but ended at 5pm. We then had dinner and bathing from 5-7pm. Dinner was not as bad as well. It was said that this year's camp food was much better than last year's. Wei Hao and I discovered a new and quicker way of bathing without having to follow the queue. I shall not go in-depth on it. Then combined practice again with Mr Liew from 7-10pm. We were then sent to our 'suites' to get some rest. Some people did not manage to sleep at all.

Day 2

The wake-up time was supposed to be 7.30am but because some of the seniors had to go for lessons, everything was brought forward. PT started at 7.30am with Wei Hao and I leading. Then about 8am+, breakfast was given. Each of us were given a Chocolate and a Sweet Corn bun. With nothing else to do, Wei Hao and I gave them R & R until 9am and we went up to the music room to do the movie screening. We watched School of Rock. It was a pretty nice show as it tells of how a rocker restarted his career through temping (working as a temporary) in a prestigious school. He led a group of students from the class he was teaching to form a band after hearing how well they played during music lessons. I missed the ending as I had to go off for lesson. We just had revision of the Geometrical Transformation and then we were released at 12pm, half an hour earlier than the schedule. Join for lunch with the other students. Then 1pm had sectionals again followed by Mr Liew's combine practice. He seemed rather angry as a lot of people were not singing to his standard. After dinner break, he sort of had mood change and bought sweets for us as a reward for working so hard during the camp. He also ended choir practice at 9pm, one hour earlier than the schedule. We were de-briefed and allowed to go home. Wei Hao, Yi Wen and I waited for Sarah's parents to come and fetch her home as she said her parents were a bit paranoid and afraid that she would go missing if she were to go home alone. Ms Lee told me that I had to find out my blood type for the NZ trip, saying that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs needed to know for some reasons.

It's over =(=(=(=(

The final two performances have ended. The first performance was held in the Jurong Stadium. It was a Optimal Health seminar. We reached there and had to perform shortly after arriving. The stage was lengthy but not broad enough. The floor was pretty slippery as well. Vincent slipped when doing a 'xuan zi' but he managed to get back on his feet quickly. Then the usual thing again. The sword came out followed by Nine-section whip. Towards the ending, Ren Zoe did not do the helicopter thing as he was afraid that it might tangle again. After the performance, the kids went home while the rest of us were treated to KFC by Vincent. After that, we waited for the bus to bring us to the next performing area. It was situated in Geylang. It was the opening of some company called LFI. The emcees there were Marcus Chin from Mediacorp and some other guy. The stage was rather small but everything managed to go quite well. After that we went back to Cairnhill to put our stuffs. We were each given our 'pay' for peforming. Then we headed to Marina Square.

Li Jun and Xin Ru took the car while the others went by MRT. Vincent had to go for a rehearsal for the Ren Ci Charity show. Upon reaching Marina Square, Robin, Yao De, Zhi Yong, Kelvin and I went to the arcade to play while waiting for the ladies to come. We headed over to Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe to have our dinner. The food there was pretty expensive. We then headed to the bowling alley to play. It has been like two years or longer since I last played bowling. We had a rule that the losing team would have to pay for each game for the winning team The first few tries all ended in the drain. After that I slowly got a few spares on. In the end, my team lost and we had to each pay for 4 games while the other team paid for 2 games. It was pretty fun playing with them. We are going to play again this Saturday. Hope I can get more then.

Two down, two more to go.

Went to mac to meet up with the choir committee members to discuss on the choir camp. Went off for wushu after that. As usual, we changed and had to put on make-up. The performance was held at the Singapore Buddhist Welfare Services near Buangkok. We were then held in a room while waiting for our turn. Jesper (not sure spelled with 'a' or 'e') was having stage fright again I think. He was not feeling well when we were about to perform. We saw some Mediacorp artistes there. Bryan Wong was the host of the event. There was this singer called Cai Li Lian whom I have not heard before sang Xi Shui Chang Liu and Better Man (Chinese Version). Then we went on stage to perform. There was some mistakes made as there was some obstruction on the stage. There was once Ren Zoe's Nine-Section Whip flew out when it got tangled with Jaryl's whip. Another Mediacorp artiste who was performing after us was Kelvin Soh. He sang some songs as well. We then went off back to Newton without seeing the whole show. Back at Newton, Vincent treated us with McDonald's. Played tug-o-war with some of the kids. Then got a ride at Xin Ru's car. She was sending Ren Zoe home as well. He lives in a bungalow with 3-storey. I really envy how some kids are fortunate enough to live in a nice home. Then I was dropped at Chinese Garden and took the MRT home.

Having last two performances tomorrow. After that, I will try my best to finish 3/4 or at least half of my holiday homework before the choir camp.

Anybody want to go out after the Ngee Ann Polytechnic thing on the 15th March?
@ 12:39 AM

So freaking tired right now. Watching Bleach after posting this.

School was as usual. Did some filing. Then after school, there was inter-class soccer for Sec 4s and 5s and inter-class floorball for sec 1s. From what I heard, Wei Cheng and Jesper were injured during the game. Both knocked into each other while tackling a ball. They were bleeding a lot somewhere above the eye. They were lucky their eyes were not affected. For more info, check Wei Cheng's blog for the full detail of the incident. Xian Feng and I were in class doing homework when Alvin called and said that Edwin told him that Wei Cheng fainted in the clinic and was sent to the hospital. It made all of us rather worried for Wei Cheng. In the end, it turned out to be a prank. Moral of the story: Never trust Edwin when he is telling you an incident which he witness and you did not.

Went for Wushu performance after that. I reached home about 5.10pm and quickly changed and prepare. When I left home, I realized my E-Z link card was still in my school pants when the bus arrived. I quickly ran back up and got down again. I thought I was going to be late and was planning to take a cab but remembered that most of the time when I thought I was late, I actually arrived earlier or on time. True enough, I reached Aljunied at 7.10pm and the meeting time was 7.30pm. Waited for Bing Han and Jaryl to come. Then we went to wait for a fellow Wufang member, Sharon to come and pick us up to the performing area. Her father was one of the organisers of the event I supposed. It was in celebration of the 47th anniversary of the temple there and the 44th anniversary of the Chong Chee Huay. Changed into the performance costume and then waited for our turn to perform. While waiting, Sharon's father gave each of us an angbao as a token of appreciation for performing. He was really generous, giving each of us $80. Then on stage, Bing Han and I made quite a few mistakes. His sword suddenly flew out of his hand but luckily no one was hit. Then my routine I added another step as I could not just stop there when I forgot the next step. Took a cab to Newton Food Centre to meet up with the others. Went home after that.

Gonna die from exhaustion soon. Everyday have something on until night time. On Monday, as usual had choir practice until 6.30-7pm. Then Tuesday would be wushu. Today had a rehearsal for tomorrow's performance. Then tomorrow would be performance + training. Friday choir until 8pm+. On Saturday have performance for wushu at night. Sunday have two performance. One in the afternoon and the other at night. Oh man, when will I be able to rest and relax. From the past month till the upcoming months, I am so damn tired. February went for a few house visiting. March is a month with lots of performance and choir camp in the march holidays. In April, there would be SYF competition, Inter-school wushu competition, NAPFA test. And then May would be mother tongue 'O' levels. Will update more soon.

The dog at my house

Wan Jia's youngest sister, Wan Ting. *Note: She may look innocent but she is a pretty good gamer and likes to take photographs of other people.

That's all the photos I got from Xian Feng. I'll see if I can get more from other people.

Yesterday went to two people's house.

Took 985 to Bukit Batok to get to Sarah's house. Then on the bus, I saw my primary school friend Cheryl. About 6-7 stops later, I reached Sarah's house. I was the only boy there. Xu Jing and Ying Qi were already there. Zheng Yang could not be contacted at all. Then I called Xian Feng to ask if he was coming. He initially said he was not coming then change his mind later. We watched Spiderman 2 there. Sarah's parents had cook macaroni for us there. It was pretty nice except that it was a bit too cheesy. Then we went into Sarah's room to play the Traditional Chinese Checkers. It has been about 2 years since I last been there. We had a fun time playing it. We also played Dai Di Sai there. Then about 4.30pm we left her house as Xian Feng wanted to go cut hair. We met up with Choon Tat at CCK MRT station. At CCK MRT, I saw a USS junior, Qian Hui. I saw another primary school friend, Edwin as well at Sunshine Place After their hair cut they went over to my house to wash away the hair. We then went to Wan Jia's house after that.

We waited for Alvin at the MRT station and went off. Once there, most of the people there were Wan Jia's father's friends. We were the earliest of our group of people there. Wan Zhen then led us to a room where we played Alvin's NDS. About 20 mins+ or so, Wan Jia and the others came over from Li Ling's hosue. Some of them played Monopoly. Then we had some food and watched movies. The first movie was some Vampire show in Cantonese. Wan Jia's youngest sister, Wan Ting was taking photographs of some us continuously. Then after the movie we went into another room where the one was group watching Apocalypto. After that we went back into the room again where we gambled. I lost quite a few again. Seems like luck is not with me this year. About 11pm+, some of them had takeaway of the food. I managed to get myself a beer to drink. Been quite a while since I last drank as well.

Changed the blog song since Valentine's is long over.

"One Week"

It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said "I'm angry"
Five days since you laughed at me saying
"Get that together come back and see me"
Three days since the living room
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
but it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry

Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the Chalet Swiss
I like the sushi
'cause it's never touched a frying pan
Hot like wasabi when I bust rhymes
Big like LeAnn Rimes
Because I'm all about value
Bert Kaempfert's got the mad hits
You try to match wits, you try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinkin achin shake
I like vanilla, it's the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, cause then you'll know
The vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it's so dangerous,
you'll have to sign a waiver

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Trying hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of taking off my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air
and said "You're crazy"
Five days since you tackled me
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees
It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault
not a moment too soon
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait til you say you're sorry

Chickity China the Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin' X-Files with no lights on
We're dans la maison
I hope the Smoking Man's in this one
Like Harrison Ford I'm getting frantic
Like Sting I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy

Like Kurasawa I make mad films
Okay, I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a Samurai
Gonna get a set a' better clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
Just so my irons aren't always flying off the back-swing
Gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
'Cause the cartoon has got the boom anime babes
That make me think the wrong thing

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin' hard not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kind of guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean?
Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of losing my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides
and said "I'm sorry"
Five days since I laughed at you and said
"You just did just what I thought you were gonna do"
Three days since the living room
We realized we're both to blame,
but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it'll still be two days till we say we're sorry

It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry
It'll still be two days till we say we're sorry
