Happy Belated 16th Birthday to Xian Feng.

Sorry I posted this late. This guy here is a great friend. He is mostly there whenever you need help from him, such as IT-related stuff. All the best to him for his 'O' Levels this year.

School has resumed. Not bad day after all. Pretty relaxed. Had a change in the timetable. Nothing much to say.

Here's a personality test which I found from another person's blog

Get to know yourself better
Your view on yourself:
You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:
You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:
You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:
You like to flirt and behave seductively. The opposite sex finds this very attractive, and that's why you'll always have admirers hanging off your arms. But how serious are you about choosing someone to be in a relationship with?

Your views on education
Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:
You have plenty of dream jobs but have little chance of doing any of them if you don't focus on something in particular. You need to choose something and go for it to be happy and achieve success.

How do you view success:
You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:
You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:
You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
From: http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test82.aspx

What does being a friend really mean to you?
You value your friendships: 75%
You love your friends very much - so much so that it's actually quite a worry. You may not be able to cope very well when you do lose somebody's friendship. You are a very sensitive and fragile person, and are therefore likely to get upset easily. You care for your friends and are willing to do anything that they ask you to do. Sometimes this can make your friends think that you are a bit of a nuisance. Nevertheless, people do really love you because your highest priority is your friends.

From: http://www.quizbox.com/personality/test78.aspx

This personality tests are pretty accurate except for one or two points in my case.

Happy 15th Birthday to Wan Ying

This girl here is my little cousin. Well, maybe not that little. She's tall, tanned and friendly. Wait, she still owes me my NZ$20. Grrhh.

Had a pretty tiring day yesterday. Met up with Aik Hao, Yi Jie Wee Hao, Pei Qi, Yu Yong, Alvin and Choon Tat at CCK MRT station at about 8.30am and met Xian Feng at Jurong East where we took the train all the way to Bedok and got a bus to East Coast Park. We walked through the underpass and had our breakfast at McDonalds. Then we had a long walk to our BBQ pit area. After that, we sat around talking and then some of us went to rent bicycles and roller-blades. Played around until about 5pm+ before the BBQ was ready to start. Not much variety of food was available. At about 6.45pm, I walked all the way back to the McDonalds to get a cab to Newton as it was the only place where most cabs would stop. Reached the CC at about 7.20pm and quickly changed and got ready for Wushu lesson. Warm-up followed by basic stances and some jumping. Had a short break before doing the routine. The National Wushu Competition would be starting in two months time and registration stops on 22nd June. Luckily I was able to join the competition and represent Wufang under 2nd International Spear routine. Intensive revision of the routine was done. After that, we went to the Newton Food Centre to have a slight bite. Cabbed back to East Coast Park and went back to find my friends. Most of them had left and only a few stayed overnight. Didn't get much sleep as we chat and played poker cards till about 2am and could not get to sleep. Went to McDonalds at 8am+ for breakfast again before taking a long bus ride on 196 to Clementi.

This is the who-knows-how-many-post-in-such-short-time post. There are just so many things to blog about this NZ trip.

Here's some thanks to the people involved in the NZ trip.

Thanks Lloyd: Our tour guide for NZ. He is the driver as well as the guide. He was patient with us despite us giving him troubles.

Thanks Ms Lee, Mrs Chan, Mrs Ram for organising this trip.

This has turned out to be a very enjoyable trip for all of us. Made many friends along the way.

Here's the list of people who went to the NZ trip.

Group 1:
- Syafiq
- Aik Hao
- Razis
- Satish
- Gabriel
- Jason
- Asyraf

Group 2:
- Agnes
- Xing Wei
- Bryan
- Jin Hao
- Shi Jie
- Lye Boon
- Wan Ying

Group 3:
- Ashilah
- Erlin
- Kenneth
- Han Guo
- Jin Kai
- Jun Rong
- Annie

Group 4:
- Me
- Yi Jie
- Jerome
- Yuan Quan
- Eric
- Dorcas
- Abigail

Group 5:
- Benedict
- Jonathan
- Eda
- Jasper
- Judy
- Jing Zuan
- Hanizah

Others
- Issabelle
- Christabelle (not sure of spelling)
- Mrs Chan's mother
- Mr Ram

The sec 3s are actually much more workable with than I thought. Judy and Eda are the first friends whom I made in this trip. We would gather to play cards until lights out at the end of each day. Jerome, Yuan Quan, Eric, Dorcas and Abigail who were in my group, I initially thought they would be the not co-operative type but towards the second half of the entire trip, we were able to communicate well with each other. Lye Boon from the other group started to call me 'Biao Ge' after knowing that I was Wan Ying's cousin. Jin Kai, someone whom I knew while playing basketball in school, help me finish my vegetables on one occasion. Issabelle, the youngest daughter of Mrs Chan, was the one that was attracting everyone's attention. She is just so cute. I only befriended her during the Mt Ruapehu part where I played with her by crawling with her along up the slopes. She had difficulty in remembering my name whenever I asked her, only until I told her my English name then she could remember my name. Christabelle, the older daughter of Mrs Chan, was the 'princess' of the trip. She could actually be a good leader, considering that she is a good speaker and takes initiative. She is also from the same primary school as me.

This trip proves not just educating but also meaningful. It would be a memory that I would never forget.

Through this trip in New Zealand, I learned that the people in New Zealand are very friendly and that they have a good sense of humor. I have also realized that NZ is a good place to get jeweleries. Their necklaces, earrings are very special and unique in that they made use of jewels that can only be found in NZ. Some of the necklace pendant are shaped in symbols which has a certain representation. The variety of clothings in New Zealand is also better than what we can get in Singapore.

16th June
The first stop was the Waitomo Caves. There on, we had a guide who led us through the caves. The limestone were weathered very creatively. There were some which look like an elephant, Stevie Wonder's hair, a Kiwi bird. Towards the ending of the cave, we had a boat ride out of the cave. During that course, we saw the glow worms in the cave. We couldn't really see what they look like as it was pitch-dark in the cave and that photography was not allowed in there. Then we headed to the Waikato River for a brief view of the place and headed back to Auckland where we got back to the hostel we first stayed in when we arrived in New Zealand. After getting to our rooms, we left the hostel for dinner at a Turkish restaurant of sort. Some of us chose kebabs while some chose pizza. Had our final sleep in YHA before the day of leaving.

17th June
The day has come to an end. We had breakfast at Cafe Cartel again and then back to the hostel to remove our luggage and put on the bus. We then went to Factory Outlet where we went to do shopping. This place was the best place to do shopping. The clothes there were of reasonable prices and quite fashionable. It has such a wide variety of clothings and shoes and bags. The shoes were pretty expensive though. Most of the shoes were around the $80 and above range. After the an hour half of shopping, we headed back to the bus and went for the airport. All of us were reluctant to leave NZ as we had so much fun there. Reached the airport at about 12pm+, checked in our luggage and boarded the plane. Funny enough, the Japanese school students also took the same flight as us back to Singapore. This time, I was sitting in the center row but at the side with Xing Wei next to me. Lunch was served and I took the fish. Throughout the flight, I watched the same movies again. I listened to some of the musics and they were pretty nice. It made me want to buy the Aqua Timez album after hearing some of their songs. Back at Singapore, Xian Feng, Alvin and Choon Tat, as well as some of the band members came to welcome the NZ goers. Took a ride home on my dad's car after that.

14th June
Can't remember what we did exactly during this day. We went by the Aratiatia Rapids where we saw the opening of the dam. Then we also went to Lake Taupo where some of us collected pumice from the shores. Then went to the Turangi river where we did river studies. Measured the width and depth as well as velocity of a part of the river. There were some of us who went into the river and in the end we had our legs freezing cold. Reached Piper Ski lodge where we had the whole lodge to ourselves. The room was the smallest compared with the previous accommodations. Still, we had our comfy sleep.

15th June
This was a very physically and mentally demanding day. We went up Mount Ruapehu which was covered in snow. We had lots of fun in the snow. Some group photos were taken there. Then some went further high up in the mountain where the slopes were getting steeper. If not for the rocks that were that, most of us would not even be able to reach the higher part of the mountain. We were about to reach the top but gave up as the road up ahead was even steeper than before. After that, we headed to the Volcano Activity Centre to have our small lunch before going to Mount Tongariro. It was as physically demanding as the Mount Ruapehu. We walked a long walk through the Tongariro Crossing. There was some climb to be done. The river water there was clean and suitable for drinking. We reached almost to the foot of the mountain before we gave up continuing as it was starting to snow. The view was pretty nice though. Had a long walk back to the bus. On the road back to our accommodation, we saw the place where the Lord of the Rings was filmed. Spent the final night at Piper Ski Lodge.
@ 12:35 AM

11th June
Had our breakfast at Cafe Cartel (not sure of the spelling). It was better, as compared to Germany's, though that was not much of a variety. Had a long ride to Pukekohe where we saw how some of the agriculture products are produced in NZ. Next we headed to Te Puke where we saw how Kiwi fruits are grown and harvested. We also went to the Waihi beach where we did some studies on the coast. Headed for our second accommodation which was the Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park Lodge. The room was slightly smaller than the first accommodation.

12th June
Best day ever. Went to the Tudor House Museum to learn about the Mount Tarawera eruption in 1886. The area around the museum was full of hydrogen sulphide (H2S) smell. Headed to the Rainbow Springs next where we saw many animals unique to New Zealand, including the Kea (parrot), Kakapo (parrot), Kiwi and the Tuatara. At the next stop, the Rainbow Farm, we were treated to an animal show. There was live display of how sheep's wool was sheared and the milking of cows. We were also shown the many species of sheep in New Zealand. Some of us got to keep the sheep's wool as well. Here's the best part. We headed to Skyline Gondola in Rotorua and had a slow ride up the mountains. From there, we were allowed to ride the luge down the mountain. It was so fun that many of us went multiple times. There was the scenic track where we can see many nice sceneries while going down the mountain. There was also intermediate and advanced track. We played all the way till nighttime when the luge was starting to close. Then we headed for dinner at a Chinese restaurant. The food was not bad considering the amount that was used to supply our meal. Headed back to the Park Lodge to rest ourselves.

13th June
Today was quite enjoyable as well. Our first stop was the Buried Village. From there, we saw the ruins of some of the houses during the Mount Tarawera eruption. Walking further in, we saw a beautiful waterfall. Up next, we headed to a Maori village where we got to see and learn the Maori culture. We were treated to a performance by some of the Maori people. The songs that were sang were very nice and touching. After the performance, we were given a tour around the village. There was a carving and weaving school for people who wish to learn the arts of the Maori people. We were led to a part of the village where there was active geothermal activity. There was a geyser that happened to be spewing just when we arrived. We also saw the Japanese school students in the village as well. This trip to the village was very educating and we all learned a very magical word which is commonly used by the Maoris in greeting. Kia ora, meaning 'be well' or 'God Bless'. It is used as a form of saying hello and at the end of a conversation as a way of thanking. Back at the Park Lodge, we had a short rest and the sec 4s headed to the hot spring to dip our legs. It was very hot but really very invigorating. The sec 3s joined us shortly after. Then back at the lodge again, we celebrated Ashilah's birthday. Ms Lee treated us to some drinks after the celebration. We then packed our luggage as we were moving to another lodge the next day.

9th June
Reached the airport at about 6.00pm to have dinner with the sec 4s who were going to NZ as well as those sending us off. Headed to McDonald's to have one final meal. Back at the meeting area, we got our passports and checked in our luggage. We then headed to the boarding gate to prepare for boarding. Once on the plane, we got to our seats. I had the window seat and beside me was Eda and Yi Jie. Took an 8-10 hour flight on SIA direct to New Zealand. There was a school of Japanese school students on board the same plane as us. The dinner was pretty nice. Mine was some chicken noodle. After that, played some of the games on the plane as well as watching movies.

10th June
The next morning, breakfast was served. I chose the omelette one. Reach NZ at approximately 10.45am. The weather was pretty okay at the start. Got onto our coach. Quite comfy. Our first stop was Mount Eden. It was quite cold up there. My ears almost froze. There was a crater in the Mt. Eden and there were rocks that form the word 'crater' on it. Then we went through the CBD. Had time to do a little shopping. Then we headed for the Museum. There were many wonderful display. Coincidentally, the group of Japanese school students were at the museum as well. After that, we headed for our first accomodation, YHA Auckland. The room was pretty big, except that the toilets were along the corridors and that it was only a few cubicles available for use.

Treasure your friends and close ones before you start to regret. They are the ones who can be there for you whenever you are feeling down. It is sad to lose such people that can make a significant impact on you. For friends, don't let your own selfishness affect your friendship. Be there when they needed help and give them advice when they need it. For close ones, be able to devote most of your time to them. They care more for you than others. To some of us, they are everything. Once lost, it seems as if you have lost the most important piece of your life. Don't procrastinate in keeping the bond you have with friends and close ones. Otherwise, you would just regret in the end.

That's what Friends are for

And I never thought I'd feel this way
And as far as I'm concerned
I'm glad I got the chance to say
That I do believe I love you

And if I should ever go away
Well, then close your eyes and try to feel
The way we do today
And then if you can remember

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Well, you came and opened me
And now there's so much more I see
And so by the way I thank you

Whoa, and then for the times when we're apart
Well, then close your eyes and know
These words are comin' from my heart
And then if you can remember, oh

Keep smiling, keep shining
Knowing you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
In good times, in bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
Oh, that's what friends are for

Whoa... oh... oh... keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, for sure
That's what friends are for
For good times and bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for

Keep smilin', keep shinin'
Knowin' you can always count on me, oh, for sure
'Cause I tell you that's what friends are for
For good times and for bad times
I'll be on your side forever more
That's what friends are for (That's what friends are for)

On me, for sure
That's what friends are for
Keep smilin', keep shinin'

Watched the last movie before I go to New Zealand.

Met up with Terence at Lot 1 and then we got the train to Jurong Regional Library. Sarah and two of her friends, Don and Rochelle, were at the library to study. They were also going to join us to watch Shrek 3. We saw Yong Chian and Shakira going to the library to study as well but separately from us. At 11am+, Kevin joined us and we got the tickets. Before the start, there was the preview of some movies. So many nice movies coming out. There's this Bee Movie which was pretty funny. Evan Almighty which was sort of a remake of Bruce Almighty with the same actor as god and Evan has to build an ark to save his family from the flood which is kinda like Noah's Ark. Transformers was also quite interesting from the preview. Shrek 3 was pretty nice. Some hilarious parts in it. Some of the songs were quite nice. After that, Sarah and her friends went back to the library to study while I, Terence and Kevin went back to Lot 1 to have our lunch. Back at CCK, the Fantastic Four show was ongoing outside Lot 1. Tried to take a picture of it but it was blurry. Exchange my Singapore Dollar to New Zealand Dollar at Lot 1 as well. S$474=>NZ$400. Worth it? Seems pretty little to me.

Off to the airport later. For those interested in sending us off, here is the flight details and time.

Flight No. : SQ285
Departing time: 2155 hr
Meeting time: 1900 hr
Venue: Terminal 2 Row 6

If this was how life is meant for me, I'd rather not live it.

Somehow, I don't really enjoy the life I am having now. What's the point of being able to get what you want when your friends are not treating you as a friend anymore or family members who just put their blame immediately on you?

Recently, most of my family members have sore eyes. I was the first one to get it. However, after a day or so, the rest of my family members got it. Then today, my mother clean up my room and blame me that I was the cause of everything. Seriously, she said that I was not very hygienic which cause all the problems but it was actually my step-grandparents who were the unhygienic ones. When the baby urinated on the floor, they just didn't clean up. They even let the baby urine on the basin where we brush our teeth. But despite knowing that, my mother still puts the blame on me. Is there even any justice around? I am getting malign for no reason. My mother always pushes everything to me. Asking me to get pocket money from my father every time and keep nagging me to do so. Okay, maybe I could still accept that. When she clean up my room, I didn't say much. When she told me to clear my worksheets that was lying around, she claim that it was all rubbish. And when I told her that all this was still needed in a not very nice tone, she claim that I was trying to talk back at her. How can I continue to tolerate all this problems? It makes me feel like ending all this once and for all quickly. Just feel so stress having so many things to handle.

What a long and tiring day.

Had lessons as usual in the morning. Met Alvin and Wei Cheng at Mac for breakfast. Went over to school and then first lesson was English. Mrs Naza was finally back. She had given birth to a baby boy. Did nothing during the lesson. Then geography lesson did nothing much as well. Had a break and then biology practical lesson. Luckily for us, we were released an hour earlier than schedule. Then went over to Mac again for lunch this time. Head to Somerset for the English 'O' level seminar. There were students from other school as well. They were from Clementi Town Secondary School. The first half of the talk was by Mr Peter Batchelor and then there was an interval before the next half by Mr Anthony Green. Both of them are from New Zealand. After the talk, me, Xian Feng, Edwin, Wei Cheng, Alvin, Jia Hao, Hui Koon, Choon Tat and Xian Zheng went to Orchard to walk around. First stop was Cineleisure. Nothing much there. Saw Evonne and Gary there. While walking to HMV, there was this two people asking people to have their photos taken as a way to promote their product I suppose. We willingly allowed to have our photos taken and we were given a copy of it. After browsing around HMV, Hui Koon and Alvin went off. We saw Jolene and Ying Qi at Orchard as well. Had our dinner at one of the food court. Then when we were about to leave, there was this Spider-man performance there. While we were about to leave, we saw Kang Yi, Sarah Ho, Cheryl and some others whom I forgot. At the MRT station, we took the train to Marina Bay so we could have some seats. This is the third time in a row that we took the train to Marina Bay just for the seats. Took some photos while waiting for the train to depart. Head to Bukit Panjang Plaza to get my new spectacles. Reached home at 9.30pm+.

Here's the photo.

GOOD JOB SEC 1 and 2 CHOIR MEMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!! GREAT PERFORMANCE!!!!!!!!!

Went to the doctor to check up on my eye. Turns out my left eye had an infection. Fortunately it was not very serious and the doctor prescribe an antibiotic eye drop which was to be applied every hour on the first day and every 2 hours on the second day. Then went for lunch at Food Culture along with Wei Hao, Sarah, Cheryl, Wei Cheng, Hui Koon, Alvin, Choon Tat, You Yang. We then went down and met up with Wan Jia in Lot 1. We took the MRT down to Bukit Gombak and Xian Feng joined us. Continued down and changed train at Jurong East. We arrived at Kallang MRT and met Wan Zhen there and got the shuttle service to the Singapore Indoor Stadium. We got to our seats and there was a goodie bag at each seats. Then Madeleine and Jackie joined us. The event started with the emcee leading the crowds to cheer and then Hady Mirza came with 3 songs to sing. Then after some marching of the contingents, Mr Lee Hsien Long arrived as the Reviewing Officer and there was the National Anthem. Couldn't really hear the choir clearly then. Then there was the display of the different police divisions. Nearing the end of the parade, the choir finish up with 3 more songs. The 2nd song was sang by 9 different people from each of the ASEAN countries, Hady being the representative for Singapore and the chorus was sang along by the choir. Overall, the performance was very well though there was some problems with the PA system. After the parade ended, we took group photos with the juniors. There was also photos with Mr Liew and Ms Lee.

Then the seniors proceeded to Marina Square to have our dinner. Some of the NPCCs followed us, namely Jia Hao, Edwin, Chee Yang and Syafiq. Took quite a while to find a place to sit the 16 of us. Then we walked around Marina Square. Cheryl, Wan Jia and Wan Zhen went off by themselves to buy some things and took bus home after getting their stuff. Wei Cheng, Xian Feng and Choon Tat went to the PC fair to buy some things. Sarah, Wei Hao, Syafiq and You Yang went off first as they couldn't stay late. Then the rest of us waited for Wei Cheng, Xian Feng and Choon Tat at Marina Bay where we waited so we could get seats. Reached home about 11pm. At the end of the day, my left eye became more red and my right eye began to turn slightly red as well.

Sigh. Still have lessons for one more week.
@ 12:34 AM

Met up with Aik Hao at Woodlands MRT to go Toa Payoh to find Xian Feng and Alvin. Xian Feng wanted to sell his old handphone at one of the shops there. Waited at Toa Payoh for a long time. Alvin took a bus and said he is reaching soon when he took almost 20 min+ to arrive. Xian Feng joined us from Outram Park. We walked around the whole of Toa Payoh area just to find that specific shop which Alvin said would offer 'high' price for the phone that Xian Feng wanted to sell. In the end, it was sold for $110. Some how we felt that we were cheated by the stall. We asked around and one of the shops could actually offer $120 for it. Then we took the train to Dhoby Ghaut to find Wei Cheng and the others. Walked over to the Grand Cathay and managed to find the LAN shop where the others were there. Edwin, Hui Koon, Jia Hao, Choon Tat and Wei Cheng were there playing Counter-Strike. Then we joined them for a few games. The five of them were one team while the rest of us were the other. We were outnumbered and lost many rounds. Then we walked over to one shop which Xian Feng recommended. The wanton noodles was quite nice. Then we walked all the way to Bugis and took the train from there to City Hall and walked another long distance to Suntec Conventional Hall where PC fair was held. It was pretty crowded. In the end, Xian Feng managed to get a graphic card only. Then we walked around looking for a shop to buy drinks. We were separated from Alvin and Jia Hao who went off by themselves. On our way, my left eye was giving problems. My left eye was red and some pus came out. I removed the left contact lens and the eye was still red. I think I might have eye infection on the left. After walking for a long time, Alvin told us that he and Jia Hao were at the MRT station waiting for us. When we got there, they were not in sight. We then waited until they arrived. We took the train to Marina Bay so we could sit down throughout the journey to our respective stations. By the time we reached CCK, it was pretty late and most buses were off-duty already so I walked home.

Bah! Going to the clinic tomorrow to have a check-up on that eye. Hopefully it is not very serious.

Good luck to the Sec 1 and 2 UniqVoices on the Police Day Parade tomorrow.
