POST-CHINGAY PAYM APPRECIATION DINNER

Met Bing Han at about 5.15pm at Tiong Bahru MRT station. Quite a number of the Macpherson students were also there as well, some of those I could remember are Ting Yi, Chun Ying, Li Rong, Cherie and Houman. Then Guo Hong came and we left for the hotel first. Once there, we head up to the Waterfront Ballroom to collect our performance pay. There were many others there as well. Then I head back down to the main entrance to find Dong Na to return her the name tags. Been about two months since I last saw her. Then saw Kim Hong waiting for the rest. Head back up and waited for the dinner to start. Saw quite a few familiar staffs, Allan, Shen Zhe, Branden, Chin Peng, Kendict, Jensen. Dinner then started. It was buffet style. My table had me, Bing Han, Guo Hong, Stanley, Evelyn, Cherie, Li Rong, Chun Ying, Jia Hui and Kim Hong, all of whom I was quite friends with. There was some activities for all of us. We were divided into 4 groups. There was also a segment where Ray sang on stage with some of his self-composed songs. He really has the talent. In the end, the group which I belong to got the highest points throughout the different rounds. Dinner ended around 9.30pm. Chat around with some of the people. Also had some photo taking. Left at about 10.30pm along with some others.

I really enjoyed myself during this celebration though not much interaction was done. Got to meet up with most of the Chingay performers and most of them were dressed in their best, somewhat like Prom. I hope I can ask some of them out again soon but guess it will have to wait till end of year since the Macphersonians have to prepare for 'O' levels.

Went to the bank in the morning to do some transfer of money. Then head over to RP to return the jacket. There was orientation going on. Watched the wushu training and it seems quite tiring. Guo Hong came and then after a while more, Hao Meng arrived. We then head over to Woodlands Regional Interchange to see if there is any bus towards Marine Parade. We initially wanted to take the bus towards Tampines and from there find a bus to Tao Nan School. Luckily for us, there was 966 that goes to Marine Parade and loop back to the interchange. The journey there was quite long.

Once there, we saw Coach Guo with his Pioneer Primary students. Up the hall, we saw quite a lot of Wufang parents. There were quite a lot of kids participating. Quite a few of the kids who were from Wufang did quite well. The whole competition lasted till about 7pm+. Then, me, Guo Hong and Hao Meng went over to AMK Hub for dinner. Reached home around 9.45pm.

Congrats to those who got into the top 4 for the category.

Don't be discouraged for those who did not get into the top 4. You can still do well in the Nationals.

Here's what I did on Saturday

Reached Bukit Batok MRT station at about 7.30pm. Then Guo Hong arrived shortly. Yao De, Yan De and Yu Ya came a minute late. We took a walk around West Mall first. At about 8.30pm, Chang Heng met us at the ground floor of West Mall. We then head over to the CSC to see if we can play bowling there. However, it was fully booked so we head over to Coach Xue house first. When we reach the top floor, Coach Xue and his wife were just at the lift so we head back down. Since Coach Xue's car couldn't fit all of us in, we called Coach Vincent and Coach Xin Ru to come over and we were divided ourselves into the three cars. We then head over to the Super Bowl at Taman Jurong.

Once there, we were put on waiting list and went to the McDonald while waiting. After a while, we were called in that we could start playing. The grouping was Coach Vincent, Coach Xin Ru, Yao De, Yu Ya and me in one group, Coach Xue, Coach Zhou, Yan De, Guo Hong, Chang Heng in another. Michelle was there as a spectator. After about two throws, me and Yan De switch over. First round, my team lost. Second round, my team lost again. There was this speed measuring meter displayed on the screen and my max bowling speed was 26.35km/h. We left at about 12am.

Time past really quickly and it was like about 7pm so we head over to change out. After that, we bought some drinks in Vivo City before heading over to Cineleisure to play. We started the games first while Jia Hao only join us shortly after. Hui Jie left for home before waiting for us. We played until about 10.30pm+ and head our supper at KFC. Reached home about 12am+.

FRIDAY 14th March
Met Aik Hao at Woodlands MRT at about 1.15pm. We were supposedly buying tickets for Benedict and Eda for the movie: Rule #1. As it was a NC-16 movie, we needed to show our IC and as Benedict and Eda were coming a bit late, we couldn't buy tickets for them so we waited until they came. Bought our tickets and slacked around until the movie started. The movie towards the ending was totally no link. After that, head over to Marina Square to find Hao Meng. Jun Jie was also there. We played pool first until Jaryl came with his girlfriend. At about 8pm, Hao Meng and I cabbed our way to Ren Mao's house for a party for the Wushu IG and the Wufang people who went Hong Kong.. His house was very big. He had Wii console, pool table, swimming pool and a KTV room. It was really cool. How I wish I could have lived in such a house. Anyway, chatted with some of the RP students there. At about 11pm+, me, Hao Meng, Zul and Daniel made our way to nearby bus stop to get home.

Wushu @ Shenzhen and Hong Kong

THE DAY BEFORE DEPARTURE
Met Ying Qing at Bukit Batok MRT. We were getting a ride from Wei Liang's father to the airport and spent the night at the airport until the next morning. Once at the airport, there was the three of us, Jun Heng and Wan Lin. Visited Terminal 3 and it was absolutely beautiful. After that, we had some light food and drinks at the Coffee Club. The night was over soon and it was about time everybody gathered at the meeting point.

DAY 1
Reached Hong Kong at about 11am+. Once there, we had a bit of trouble getting through the customs to Shenzhen. After that, we made our way to the hotel and had free time until dinner where we had our dinner at our hotel, Regency Hotel.

DAY 2
We woke up early and had our morning jog before breakfast. After breakfast, we made our way to our training place in Shenzhen Ti Gong Da Dui. It was some sort of a sports school. They had an indoor hall for Wushu and Gymnastics. Our training there was quite slack, I thought we would get to train with the people there but there wasn't many people there. The day past quickly and had lunch at some nearby food shop. Had our afternoon training after an hour or two rest. Head back to hotel at about 4-5pm+.

DAY 3 -DAY 5
Breakfast, training as usual, except on one of the days we only trained in the morning. Had a bit of shopping time during one of the few days. On the last day of training, we only managed to interact with some of the Shenzhen wushu people, mostly youngsters ranging from age 10-20. Took some photos and chatted with a few of them.

DAY 6
We had an entire day of shopping on this day. Can't really remember much on this day. We packed our luggage in the night in preparation for the moving over to Hong Kong.

DAY 7
Left our hotel at about 12pm. We made our way to the checkpoint to take the train from Shenzhen towards Hong Kong. At the checkpoint, we could see some of the other teams that would be competing in the competition. It took quite some time before we managed to get on the train towards Hong Kong. We alighted at this station called University. Once there, we board a bus towards our hotel, L' Hotel. It was a very grand hotel and our stay there was totally covered by the committee of the wushu competition.

DAY 8
Woke up early for breakfast as well as the trip to the Ma On Shan Stadium where the Hong Kong International Wushu Festival would be held. Buses were allocated different time intervals to shuttle the competitors to and from the stadium and hotel. We made it to the opening ceremony. All the guys were set to compete in the first day of competition. The events were categorize firstly by gender, age group and followed by event. It resulted in such a way that in some category, there may be only one or two people competing, which made it relevantly easy to earn the first three places. Each of the guys from the Republic Polytechnic and Wufang won at least a medal each. I won a Bronze for Sword and Silver for Spear.

DAY 9
The girls were competing on this day. Each of them won at least one medal as well. We spent the whole day in the stadium as the girls were competing at different timings.

DAY 10
The sparring event was on during this day. We didn't win a medal for this event. Eventually, we had some photo-taking and head back to the hotel. There was the closing ceremony and we got overall second, tied with some other countries for having quite a number of medals, about 25+.

DAY 11
This was a shopping day for us in Hong Kong. Bought quite a few things. Can't remember much about what happened.

DAY 12
Made our way to the airport at about 3pm+. Once there, we check-in our luggage and had about 2 hours to get some stuff before boarding our plane. Dinner was provided on the plane. Back at Singapore, some bought alcohol from the Duty Free shop and we collected our luggage. I took a cab with Ying Qing and Lister. Reached home about 2am I think.

Photos will be up in the weeks to come. I will need to get from the RP people.
