A burning Chingay rehearsal.

Today was the second Chingay rehearsal that we had. Met Bing Han at 10am at Lakeside Primary School and we cabbed to Kallang to fetch Guo Hong and we headed for Guillemard Camp for the rehearsals. Once there, we joined in the briefing and then did some runs on it. The three of us were there to do some stunts while on the float. It was be pushed by some of the students from Macpherson Secondary School. Lunch was provided. Rehearsal was damn tiring as it was under the hot sun. We had a lot of re-runs. By around 4.30pm, we were released. Me, Bing Han and Guo Hong took bus 16 to Plaza Singapura and walked around. Had our dinner at KFC before we left.

Got back my 'O' Level results.

Met a big group of people at Yew Tee Mac. They were waiting there as the school would only be open from 1.30pm onwards. Once in the school, we had our final lunch from the school canteen before we are officially graduates from the school. Went up to the hall to get the results. Unfortunately, those whose hair are not appropriate according the school rules were sent to the Earth-History room to wait for the others to get their results before getting their results. I was one of the unfortunate ones. Waited for very long before the teacher came down. From what I heard, Yvonne from 4/8 achieved the most distinction in the school but Samuel, also from 4/8, top the whole cohort in the 'O' levels. In the end, it was like me and Clement the only ones still waiting for results. Eventually Mrs Naza came down to give us our results. I was quite satisfied with it.

Then after that, me, Wei Cheng, Alvin, Choon Tat, Xian Feng, Jia Hao, Edwin, Xian Zheng and Hui Koon went to Seoul Garden for a some sort of celebration. Saw Ming Soon with his group of CCKSS friends and Sin Rui with a few of her DSS friends. Ate until like 6.30pm before I proceeded to Newton for training.

My results:

English: C5
E Maths: A1
Science (Bio/Chem): A2
Combine Humanities (SS/Hist): B4
Pure Geography: B3
A Maths: B3
Chinese: B4

L1R4: 14
L1R5: 18

I actually met my target which I set previously when I was using my previous blogskin. Coincidentally, the results were exactly the same. For English, it was kind of expected but I was thinking of a B4 at least. E Maths was expected as the paper was relatively easy in my opinion. My Science was a half-shocked half-expected. Most of my friends would have known about how I did for my practical. The half-shocked came from that the Cambridge markers didn't penalise much for what I did. The half-expected was because the Biology paper was relatively easy and the MCQ for both paper was like easy as I finished it around 10 minutes. SS/Hist was a bit shock as I thought I would get lower since I had quite a few blanks in the paper. Pure Geography was a bit shock as well as the day before that, I was having the Star Search rehearsal and didn't have enough time to study and in the end I got a B3. The most improved I guess would be A Maths. I have been constantly failing A Maths exams for Mid-year and prelims. But turns out in the 'O' levels, I actually got a B3.

Good job to Alvin and Xian Feng for scoring L1R4 9 L1R5 12 and L1R4 8 L1R5 11 respectively (hope I got it right). Good job to Guo Hong as well for winning me with L1R4 13 L1R5 16. To those who did not do very well for the 'O' levels, don't get too upset over it. You did your best. If you just barely made it to JC, just try to make up for it by preparing to work harder in JC. Polytechnic isn't as bad as some think. Even if you can't reach the COP for some of the courses, you can still appeal so long as you really are interested and you meet the minimum requirements at least.

Supposed to post this yesterday but I was quite tired so decided to post now.

This was one of the best 6C gathering we ever had.

Met Mervin, Bernard and Yong Jin at Lot 1, along with Mu Xing, Shi Hui, Silvia and Xue Ying. Head back to MRT station to wait for the rest to come. While waiting, the girls went to get some bottled drinks from NTUC. Then, Wan Jia, Sin Rui, Ming Soon, Pei Xian, Teng Wei and Edwin came. Last to arrived was Bing Han. We took the train to Harbourfront and took the Sentosa Express to the beach. Once there, we played with the frisbee and volleyball. Then the guys went into the water while the girls didn't really want to go in. Played in the water for quite some time before coming back to shore to rest. Victor then came to join us from his school while Chin Hui joined a bit later as well. Time really past very fast and it was about 3.30pm soon. Then Ming Soon, Arthoven, Wan Jia and Sin Rui went off first to change and go Vivo City. The rest of us played till like 4.45pm then we changed out and head over to Vivo City as well for dinner. The other group had left to play pool at Bukit Batok. After dinner, we walked around Vivo while Mu Xing wanted to buy a new pair of slippers as his current one had spoiled. Took the train back to CCK to meet up with the other group, inclusive of Clement. We sat around in Food Court before we left at about 9pm+.
I guess my presence made her uneasy in the gathering...

This post is done out of unuwillingness.

HAPPY 61st 16th BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR MEI, EDA CHEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Known her better after the NZ trip. Always bullied by us. Haha. Now she is happily attached to my friend. All the best in their relationship, may it be long lasting and all the best in her 'O' levels.

Going Hong Kong for Wushu Competition in March from the 1st to the 12th along with Hao Meng, Guo Hong and some of the Republic Poly students.. First six days would be training in Shenzhen. The cost would be around $1500. After much persuasion, my parents finally allowed. Now the only thing I am worrying about is the routine that I want to do for the competition. Coach Xue recommended us to take Freestyle routines as the competition combines the freestyle and international routines events together, from what we heard.

I didn't really enjoy much about the chalet. I'm just posting what I felt about the chalet so if anybody wants to flame this, I don't really give a damn about it. Firstly, the people were really not very enthusiastic about being in the chalet. Firstly, most of the people, including the guys, didn't want to go up the Old Changi Hospital. Secondly, they weren't interested in going to the Changi beach that I wanted to bring them to. Thirdly, the air-con, lights and fans were overused. We were given free 45 units of air-con usage. In the end, we ended up with 104 units used. For the first 3 days, it was on average 34 units used per day. However, on the last night, we only used up 1 unit of air-con. This was because some people left the air-con running while not in the room, plus the temperature was put to minimum, which would mean greater usage. Lastly, many people left on the evening of the 3rd day. It was very annoying as some of them didn't want to stay one more night as to avoid being made to help clean up the bungalow or pay the excess bill of the air-con usage which can only be paid via Nets or Cashcard which the remaining of us didn't have. Syafiq was also angry as well. He didn't really like people going home early before the last day of the chalet as well.

I'm back from class chalet

Monday
Met Alvin and Kevin outside Unity Secondary School waiting for Ms Lee. After about half an hour, Ms Lee finally came out. Then we took a cab to our chalet at Aloha Changi. Once there, we checked in and head over to our bungalow. At first when we went in, there were a lot of mosquitoes. Alvin and I decided to explore the Old Changi Hospital while waiting for the rest to come. After being 'attacked' by bats twice, we decided to leave the place. Then Hui Jie came. We tolerated until the rest came. [Aik Hao, Benedict, Agnes, Xing Wei, Wee How, Syafiq, Choon Tat, Pei Qi, Ricky and Rahman] We then had our dinner at a food centre in Changi Village. After that, Ms Lee left while the rest of us head back to our bungalow and played some cards and talked. Razis and Hazwan came in quite late as they were quite lost.

Tuesday
Zahid came early in the morning. Then some of us took the bus to Tampines MRT station and board a shuttle bus to Giant to purchase some items needed for BBQ at night. The total time spent on the whole journey by bus was about an hour or more. Once back at the chalet, Alex, Alyssa, Doreen, Delson, Desmond and Xian Feng were out exploring the Old Changi Hospital with Alvin. I joined them shortly and managed to explore more of the building. Head back down and the BBQ was almost starting. Ashilah and Jonathan had arrived as well. It began to rain shortly after the BBQ started. We cleared up quickly and finish barbecuing the still-cooking food in the rain. After BBQ, Agnes came back from church with this card game called Saboteur. It was quite fun to play.

Wednesday
Early in the morning, Ricky and Rahman left. Not much was planned for that day. We ordered McDonalds for breakfast while Ashilah ordered Pizza Hut for herself. Whole afternoon was quite slack. We went for a lunch-cum-dinner at Changi Village. When we came back, the Malay guys had gone for their dinner. Then the rest of the people left, leaving me and Kevin in the whole bungalow. Eventually, the Malay guys and Hui Jie came back. We ordered Canadian Pizza for dinner and also cooked the chicken wings that were leftover from the BBQ. After that, we decided to rest till the next day and check out. That night, we checked the air-con meter and it was an outstanding 103 units used since the start of the chalet till the day before we check out. We decided to on the air-con for a while and slept.

Thursday
Woke up early, seeing Hui Jie still around as she overslept and decided not to go for lessons. Then Kevin woke up and we finished up the remaining chickens. The Malay guys woke up around 12pm+. We then had some chat until about 4pm before we left. Checked-out and waited for the bus back to Tampines MRT station. The rest were going for Swensens while I had to rush home to prepare for wushu training at night. Was late by about half an hour. After training, had supper before leaving.

A week of gathering.

Starting from Monday, I will be away for chalet until the 10th which is on Thursday. This chalet would be held at Aloha Changi for 4/5 students. Quite looking forward to it but really don't what to do that for the four days. Seems like nothing much can be done there.

On Saturday, I will be out with my primary 6C friends at Sentosa. It has been quite a while since there was such gathering. The last one was some time during Sec 2 I think. Really looking forward to it as more of the classmates would be present for this gathering.

Recently, comedian Jimmy Nah, better known as MC King has passed away at the age of 40

(extracted from Channel News Asia)

SINGAPORE: Singapore television personality Jimmy Nah, who is better known as MC King, has passed away suddenly. He was 40 years old. The comedian died in hospital at 1pm Friday, shortly after he was admitted.Earlier in the morning, he was said to have experienced breathing difficulties at home where he lived with his mother and brother. It is not known if Jimmy had suffered from any health problems. But in the last entry he posted on his blog on 31 December, Jimmy had hoped for good health in the coming year. Local director Jack Neo, who had worked with Jimmy on several productions, said he was shocked upon hearing the news. "All along, he’s very, very healthy. So, I don’t know why. I seriously don’t know why," said Jack Neo. Jimmy had acted in a couple of local movies, including Neo’s "Just Follow Law", as well as local drama serials.

It is kinda sad for him to have to die at such young age. Without him, the comedian community seems to be lacking in talented comedians. Jack Neo has also lost a valuable member of his JTeam. In memory of him, I shall put up the link to his blog as well as many other artiste's blog that I can find.

Went back to Unity CCA Open house today.

Met Stella and Evelyn at Yew Tee Food Court. It has been about more than one month since I last saw them. Then we head over to Unity Secondary School to view the open house. Went to collect my Eagles award at the General Office. The choir was just at the foyer there singing. They seemed to be getting better I think. Walked around the school viewing some other CCAs. Saw quite a lot of people from the recently graduate batch. Alvis, Alfred, Fabian, Edwin, Benedict, Fion, Xing Wei, An Qi, Nury, Erlin, Darina, Shakira, Yee Teng, Carine, Xin Hui, Joey, Cynthia, Jesper, Hazawan, Zahid, Syafiq, Razis and Fazrul. Met with some other juniors from the school as well. Saw the display from some of the CCAs. NPCC wasn't as nice. NCC had one of the better performance. Not to offend anybody here, but I felt that after the Sec 4s of '07 has graduated, the school seems to be a bit cannot make it standard. Some of the CCAs aren't really of the standard as before.

Anyway, part of the school is currently under construction for the new indoor sports hall. But it would not be completed until 2009 I supposed. Then after Wei Cheng and Choon Tat came, we sat around in the canteen and chat. Some of us went over to McDonald's to have dinner after that. Then Edwin and I walked around Lot 1 and he bought himself a Black Nintendo DS Lite with screen protector and pouch for $250+.

A brand new year

A brand new day

A brand new life (perhaps?)

2007 has been a fun and enjoyable year for me. However, the countdown didn't really bring any joy to me. It was the year I took my 'O' levels and after the countdown, I am officially away from secondary school life, which means I won't get to see my secondary school friends everyday. Yet on the countdown, I neglected some of my friends for personal sake. I had actually wanted to be with a lot more people for this countdown, as it marks the end of school life for the group of us.
I kinda regretted choosing game over her when she was just somewhere nearby
Anyway, whatever bad that happened in 2007 should be thrown away. Looking forward to the good things that's to come in the coming years is the best way to think. Here's my 2008 resolution.

1) Obtain desirable results for 'O' levels
2) Take part in the National Wushu Competition again
3) Grow taller and lose some weight (this may seem more for girls but I figured that I haven't really grown but put on more weight in 2007)
4) Mend broken friendship
5) Meet up with old friends

NEW YEAR EVE EVENT 2

Reached Somerset MRT station slightly past 7pm. Waited there for like half an hour and decided to contact Alvin and the others, only to find out that they were at Food Republic in Wisma Atria. It made me so fed up that none of them bothered to tell me and I had to make the call for them to tell me. When I reached Orchard and went to find them, I was preparing the SMSes for the New Year greeting. But I was so pissed up then that I accidentally sent in a bunch of SMS of New Year greeting at around 8pm. Wei Cheng, Choon Tat and Jia Hao were there. Had dinner there and we walked over to Cineleisure. Upon reaching there, there was this booth with free cups of coke and goodie bags. We got ourselves the items and then head up to E2Max to play. Wei Yao came to join us shortly. After an hour of CS, we went down to Sakae where Xian Feng and his girlfriend were having their dinner. After a while of waiting, we head to Food Court to slack. Then we continued playing at 10.30pm for 2 hours. In between, Edwin, Davis and some others came to see us play. They left after watching a while. We played CS and Half-Life. Just after our game ended, Xian Feng arrived. Then we head over to Orchard and took the train home. Upon reaching Yew Tee, we realised Shakira was all along beside us. Lol. Reached home about 2.30am+.

Sorry to those whom I ignored the calls. I guess my selfishness got the better of me. I was enjoying myself playing the games and was also influence by others to not pick up the phone. Hope you guys won't take it to heart.
