Haven't been posting for quite a long time.

Down to 4 more papers before 'O' Levels end for me. Past few days have been quite tiring. Had rehearsals for the Star Search 2007 at Mediacorp Studios over the weekends. Had to take a total of 36 bus stops from my house to there. Then on Monday, had English Paper 1 and 2 in the morning and E Maths at the afternoon. Did quite badly for the Engilsh I think. Maths was relatively okay. On Tuesday, had E Maths Paper 2. Quite easy I suppose. Then after that went to play Pool with Alex and Delson. After that Leonard and Tommy came and join us. Played until 4pm+ then Delson went off. After that we continued to 5pm+ before we all left.

Good news or bad news?

Just had my first 'O' Level Science Practical Exam. Think I totally screwed it up. Good news is that I was able to do most of the questions and get the answer. Bad news, I wrote all the answers in pencil. Seriously screwed it up. Hopefully the 'O' Level markers would be lenient enough to give me the marks and not give me a complete zero for the whole practical.

16 years have passed. This day, I have turned 16. It has been a memorable 16 years for me. This post would be a flashback of the years that I have been through.

1991
Born in KK Women & Children Hospital.

1998
The start of primary school year. Entered South View Primary School. Started out in 1A. It was quite a memorable year as during that year, I actually got a present from one of my classmate during my birthday. That was the first time I received a gift from someone else other than my family or relatives.

1999
2E was my class in primary 2. It was the best class then. Made some new friends. One thing that I remembered during that year was that I got last in class that time. It was not because of poor results. Out of 300 marks for 3 subjects, I got 260. I was promoted to 3F

2000
My results started to drop that year. Had an additional subject to study which was Science.

2001
Started my year in 4F. We had to start choosing CCA then. I eventually joined Science Club. It was quite an interesting CCA. We get to go to Jurong Bird park or Singapore Zoological Garden every Friday. The entry was free as well. Sometimes we might also go to Singapore Science Centre. Streaming was done in that year to decide whether we get to go into EM1,2 or 3.

2002
Was put into 5C, the best of the EM2 class. Can't remember whether was it this year or in P6, the Science Club members went to the Zoo for camp. It was not really a full day camp. We reached there at 9am and left at about 5-6pm. It lasted for two or three days. During that time, we get to see the animals in the zoo and even came in contact with some of the animals. It was quite a enjoyable time there.

2003
We got a new temporary Chinese teacher from China teaching us. Her method of teaching was quite interesting. She even arranged some event thing before she left back to China. We were brought to Nanyang Girl's High School where we had some sort of Q & A session with her. Truth be told though, it was then I started to like a girl from my class. The last two years in primary school was quite fun. My classmates were into this activity called Virus which was like catching and also chapteh. This was also the year I took my PSLE.

2004
Entered Unity Secondary School with an aggregate of 228. Many of my primary school friends got into the same school as me, some even in the same class. It was a more stressing year as there was even more subjects to take on, such as History, Geography, D & T and Home Economics as well as Literature. Got into choir just after the first day of music lesson. Another friend of mine was also put into choir then. The best thing about choir that year was that we got to perform in the Singapore Youth Festival Opening Ceremony. We had to learn about 13 songs and 13 dance for each song. It was tough to memorise all the steps. On the actual day itself, we actually had fun performing. We got free food and transport to and from the National Stadium for each rehearsal.

2005
This year was even more stressing, with the bi-annual SYF competition for secondary school. I was unable to sing with the choir as the instructor said my voice was not ready for it. The choir camp held this year was also quite interesting. We had night-walk around the school and got to scare some of the choir members. This year was also the streaming for Sec 3. It was also the year I joined Wufang, a wushu academy set up by Vincent Ng. It started out under Mediacorp Studios. It was also a year that I would never forget as I had my first chalet with my classmates of 2/7. I would never forget that few days we had in the chalet.

2006
My results actually drop drastically in Sec 3. I got into the second worst express class. I regretted not studying hard in Sec 2. Wufang moved from Mediacorp Studios to Cairnhill CC as the academy was expanding faster. Had my first public performance in Wushu for the Mayday performance in celebration for Labour Day at Padang. I made many friends with the Wushu people as well. It was also my first performance on TV and with Mediacorp Artiste. Following up was the Vesak Day performance. It was quite fun as well. Performed in Mediacorp studios for the performance. Went for the Germany Field Trip with the Sec 3s and Sec 4s. We visited Germany, Czech Republic and Austria. We got to learn more about the history of these countries which was related to our syllabus. This year, the school choir got to perform for the National Day Parade '06 in which the National Day would be held at the National Stadium for the last time. Made some friends there. It was an unforgettable performance.

2007
This year is a crucial year for many people. Had quite a lot of performances this year. The first few being the Chinese New Year performance. SYF competition was held once again and we got silver this time. It was also the year where I took part in my first Wushu competition representing the school. Following that month, there was the NZ field trip for the Pure Geography students. Got to know the Sec3s better through this trip. Learn many new things as well. I took part in the National Wushu Competition for the first time as well, representing Wufang. The very last performance was the SingaPOPera! performance which I made a few friends as well, even though I was as a helper there. Prelims results came out and was not as I expected.

Year 2007 was my most memorable year as for once I had a birthday celebration from friends rather than family. Many fun-filled yaers have passed and soon I would be taking my 'O' level exams. Hope I can obtained good results eventually and also hope my friends can as well.

Many thanks to the people in Wufang for making my birthday this year a most memorable one.

I never had such a 'formal' celebration except within my family. It is the first time in my 16 years that someone other than my family would celebrate my birthday. I am really touched by you guys in Wufang. Thanks for making my day.

"Now as our lives change, come whatever, we will still be friends forever."

Graduation day has just passed. Word spread around quickly that all the graduating classes would bring the old school tie if they still have it. However, sad to say, some of the teachers said that the tie is no longer part of the school uniform and thus we were not allowed to wear it. During the graduation day assembly, we were given speech by the Principal and the Vice-Principal. Following up was some slides with words of encouragement from our teachers. Following that, there were speeches by student representatives from each of the streams of Sec 4s and 5s. All the speeches were very encouraging to all of us. Then we were given mementos from the school. It was a key-shaped key chain. Then went back to class to get the result slips. My percentage score remained as about 59%. After that a whole group of Sec 4s went to ice-skate at Fuji Ice Palace. Those who were there were: Aik Hao, Yi JIe, Delwin and his friend, Xian Feng, Edwin, Timothy, Pei Qi, Hui Yi, Xing Wei, Ashilah, Wei Li, Chun Yong, Clement, Alex, Qing He, Gabriel, Lewis, Kai Yi, Lee Feng, Kenric, Davis and Elliot. Tommy and Jessica joined us shortly after that. We had a lot of fun there, skating from 2pm-6pm. It was fun helping my other friends who were unable to skate well. Had dinner then some of us went to play pool while others went to play arcade. Me, Alex and Wei Li went to play the arcade as only us were unable to enter K-Pool as we were still not of legal age. Then went home at about 8pm.

This graduation day proved meaningful to most of us. Hopefully after 'O' levels, there might be another ice-skating trip with more people.

Counting down to 'O' levels: 19 Days

The final lap is near. Soon the Sec 4Es and 5Ns would be having their most important exam in their secondary school life. And in two more days, it would be the school graduation day for the sec 4s. After that, we would not need to go to school until the 'O' level papers. That is also the last day where we get to see our fellow friends in school.

On the other hand, I would be stopping training for Wushu after next week in preparation for 'O' levels. Having a performance on the 4th Nov and two rehearsals on the 27th and 28th Oct. Hopefully there would not be additional rehearsal other than those dates as 'O' level exams are around these few dates.
